Summary:
Immigrants form an increasing part of the population of European countries, and skills training, especially in dynamic areas such as entrepreneurship is essential, if immigrants are to fulfil their potential as individuals and as contributors to economic growth and social stability.  However, immigrants are less likely to take up training than other groups.  Similarly, business training organizations are often poorly equipped to train immigrants.

European Entrepreneurs aims to redress this imbalance by effectively identifying and training immigrants as entrepreneurs, by  providing tailoring learning support via a multi-lingual web-site to Immigrants who may be considering setting up their own business.

It will do so by transferring content from a previous training course to a new elearning tool.  The training tool will be rigorously piloted, and the end version will be the subject of an extensive dissemination campaign to encourage active uptake and use of these products by immigrants considering or who have the potential to become entrepreneurs. The project will also inform business trainers, business VET providers and policy makers of the particular needs of the immigrant population.

Through the project activities IMMINENT will:
- identify the barriers and obstacles experienced by immigrants interested in
entrepreneurship and effectively provide support in how to overcome them
- provide practical examples of successful immigrant entrepreneurships as the basis
for raising the profile and recognition of the contribution that immigrant
  entrepreneurs make to economic growth
- raise awareness amongst immigrant support networks and economic development
networks of the importance of enabling immigrants to contribute to economic growth
  and social integration via entrepreneurship

As an end result, a larger number of immigrants will acquire new skills, are likely to increase their contribution to economic growth.  Simultaneously, the effects on social and cultural integration will be very positive in the long run.
